Folklore ballet "Smolensk" - unique,
bright, on
anybody not the similar choreographic
ensemble displaying
original individuality, simplicity and breadth
of
soul of Russian people.
His dances are known in many
countries of the world, they are
colourful, majestic, original. They
are charming and gentle - female
dances. Daring and strong men in
execution. Or comic - shining with
humour and inexhaustible
imagination, but all surprisingly
different. Actors of collective are
young and beautiful and talented.

What is
the Smolensk? |
|
Smolensk - very ancient city in the west of the Russian Federation,
based in 863 year. Therefore he has the important historical value
and a role.
 The
city has arisen on an ancient trading waterway " from Variag in
Greeks " - from the Baltic sea in black sea. It is considered, that
the word Smolensk occurs from a word "pitch". The city you see is
based on the river Dnepr, and ancient people pitched here boats.
The
central part of city is surrounded with a Fortification, the
outstanding defensive works
 XVI-XVII,
protection carrying out function against attacks.
Smolensk Uspensky cathedral XI - XII. Sight of a temple is
magnificent carved fivestages on iconostasis
 (height
31m), a masterpiece of arts and crafts. One of the
biggest in the world.
Here were born:
Michael Glinka - a great Russian composer, Sergey Konenkov - a
Russian sculptor, Alexander Tvardovsky - a poet, Jury Gagarin - the
world's first astronaut. |

Performances / the Collective gathers to
Spain |
|
In middle of July (2003) new
performances of
theatre will begin, the
collective leaves for the Spanish city of Saragossa, where been up to
the end of a summer.

Accounting concert |
|
June, 29 with success has
passed an annual accounting concert of Folklore ballet "Smolensk" in "
Smolensk experimental theatre of a drama ". |

Since
April till June, 2003 the collective was in tour round on cities of
Belgium and France in which end the Saint-Ghislan - (Belgium)
successfully participated in XX international festival in city. |

It is the
big responsibility and trust which to us rendered the State republican
centre of Russian folklore of the Ministry of culture of the Russian
Federation, having defined our creative collective the participant of
festival.
